Georges Gamache is a versatile and eclectic artist refusing to stay within only one style. We can recognize elements of classicism in many of his enchanting works. The artist most distinctive elements of style are his fresco like textures that are applied to his canvases. This textural quality is his trademark signature. It transforms the two dimensional canvass into a three dimensional world.
Gamache seeks a gentle contemplative expressiveness. His scenes are devoid of conflict and human collisions , reflecting more so on the beauty of everyday life. He strives not to recreate real life scenes but to paraphrase life. His palette has a soothing and meditative effect on the viewer. For this particular exihit, Gamache has focused on interiors with windows and doors leading to fantasy exteriors.
Georges Gamache was born on August 6th, 1954 in Winnipeg Manitoba
He conpleated his fine arts degree at the Universities of Winnipeg and Victoria, British Columbia
He also received a diploma from Camosun College in Victoria where he specialized in photography, film and media.
